Another one bites the dust.
If you haven’t heard the songNaijalodities, the link is here: Tekno- Diana
From the table topping song in“Pana” which is still arguably one of the best songs coming out of 2016, Tekno, 23, has taken a giant stumble in his latest release titled “Diana”.
The song which comes from the artists afro pop music backgroundis a total wack job.
It is almost as if producerSelebobo (famous for his hit production of Yemi Alade’s ‘Johnny’ franchise) and KrizBeats (Creator of the song ‘Pana’) were simply unmotivated by the song from the start and were forced to complete it- By their standards, this is horrendous!
And Tekno. The Pop music crown prince tag seems to be getting to the artist that for him now, anything will do, something Azeez Makinde, CEO of Naijaloaded famously pointed out in a review of rapper Olamide’s latest song “Orobo”.
Born in Bauchi located in North Eastern part Naija, a young Teknowas toured around the North as his father was serving in the Army. He ended up spending a huge chunk of his adult hood in Abuja, and it was in this big city he discovered an already precarious talent in music.
Hit songs in ‘Duro’ and ‘Wash’ are a taste of his glazing musical talent; which he incorporates humor, sweet melody and even nonsensical lyrics into it.
The song “Diana” is simply a dark spot in a dazzling 2016 for the artist that includes ‘Where’ and the grossing ‘Pana’.
What is really funny is even the industrious duo in Selebobo and KrizBeats couldn’t save this song from its ‘Dead on arrival tag’.
